CAS Watercolour February Love card Reminder

So many GORGEOUS Watercolour February Love cards by the CAS Watercolour Design Team and in the Gallery.  Hope you get to play along too.

Here is my Reminder Valentine Card...

Close Up  showing the W of S shimmer...

My sister Margie came out for a couple of days of stamping play time :-)  I borrowed Margie's TCW butterfly stencil and made this CAS Watercolour card using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.

I placed the stencil at an angle with part of the right wing off the paper and taped the stencil down with my 3M masking tape.  Love that tape...it is 2" wide,  never tears your paper and can be reused over and over.  Then came the fun marker coloring with my Zigs.

I punched some hearts out of scrap CS and used as a stencil then colored the hearts with the same colors as the butterfly and punched out with my SU heart punch.

Stamped my SU Field Flowers (ret) sentiment with Archival Black ink and added my hearts with mini glue dots.  Then I went over my butterfly and hearts with my Wink of Stella marker for a bit of bling.   A very CAS pretty design for my 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card.

Enjoy and do drop by to see all the new beautiful CAS Watercolour Reminder Cards by our very talented DT and GD.   You still have until February 24th to play.  Happy Valentine's Day to you all...Hugs!

Supplies listed in description.....

My card is also for the STAMPlorations February CAS Challenge Anything goes & Twist..Hot Pink.

CAS Mix UP February Corrugated Reminder

Who would have thought Corrugated techniques could be so creative and versatile!!!  So many awesome samples for the CAS Mix Up Corrugated Reminder Challenge from the DT, GD and our growing Gallery!

Here is my Card using Stamping + Corrugated Cardboard Sleeve + stenciling with eb paste and Tracing Stenciling.

I placed my TCW Cafe Latte Stencil over my Distress Ink Smooshed background and drew the black lines with my Staedler permanent ink marker and then fussy cut.  I made my smooshed background with Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Brushed Corduroy, Scattered Straw and Tumbled Glass by adding inks onto my craft mat and spritzing with water and then smooshing my watercolor paper onto the inks.  I used Loll's Smooshing with Inks Technique.

I set aside my cup and took a piece of heavy kraft paper and put it through my crimper. I then cut my piece to size for the cup and used my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons: Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to color the corrugation and blended the colors with my finger and spritzed lightly with water.  That really brought out the ridges.  I wrapped the corrugated sleeve around the cup and attached with scotch tape.  That was a fun project creating my main image.

Next I used a new TCW Mini Raven Mosaic Stencil to add Golden's Embossing Paste for texture to the background of the SU Confetti Cream CS (ret).  Stamped my sentiment using PB "Heartfelt Thanks" stamp set with T.H. Vintage Photo using my MISTI.

Next I added a thin frame using SU Early Espresso CS and attached my card front to my Confetti Cream card base using foam tape.  That was it!

I have really enjoyed playing with corrugated cardboard and cardstock this month.  Thanks again Susan DT (Cardmaker's Garret) for hosting your fun CAS Mix Up Corrugated February Challenge.

You still have until February 24th to play along.  Happy Corrugating my friends.  Hugs...

My 3rd STAMPlorations Tagplorations Tag!

I have had so much fun playing with my new CUTplorations Luggage Tag Dies.   Shery's Tagplorations Linky Party was the perfect opportunity to play with my new Dies!  There are new tag samples each of the 7 days by Shery's very talented DT and lots of prizes available :-)  The party ends on February 14th.  Hope you get to play too.

Here is my tag for Day 5

I went crazy with stencils on my tag.  I used 3 ARTploration stencils, 1 Tim Holtz and 1 TCW stencil.

I  die cut my largest Luggage Tag from a manila T. H. tag and started by covering with a layer of Gesso, let dry and sponged Distress Inks to cover white Gesso.  Then the fun began with the stencils.

I started with the TCW stencil, then the T.H. stencil, then my 3 Artplorations stencils. Sponging with sponge daubers and Distress Inks.

Next, using my palette knife,  I went over my stenciled hearts and bird with Golden's Molding Paste. The paste absorbed the DI inks from the images as it dried.  To make the images pop more I traced with a permanent black pen.

I traced around the edge of the  tag with a shimmer gold ink pen and my black marker to frame the tag.  Added my ribbon, rhinestones, CUTplorations Smile and done.  There was a lot of drying time, but a really fun project.

Adding to more Challenges.

Love Tagsploration Linky Party

You have until February 14th to play in STAMPlorations latest Love Tagsploration Linky Party!  There are daily creative tag samples by the very talented Design Team!

Here is my Tagplorations Card.....

I was inspired to die cut an image from my STAMPlorations Color Blooms coloring book because of beautiful tag cards Shery (ThatOneLayerMixedMediaGirl) has been making for her Tagploration Party.

I colored several pages of my book while on a 3 week trailer camping trip last Fall. What a fun way to while away the hours in a creative way.  Just me, my coloring book and Zigs :-)

I die cut my images with my CUTplorations Luggage Tag die using the medium sized die. I die cut a 2nd tag with SU Whisper White thick CS  and attached my color blooms tag using Golden's gel medium.

Next I die cut my CUTplorations "Hugs Word" using SU Basic Black CS and attached to my tag using my SU fine tip glue pen.  Next I used my MISTI to stamp my STAMPlorations "Be Thankful" sentiment using Archival black ink.  I stamped 3 times for good coverage..

I then added SU Calypso Coral Seam Binding to my tag and Wink of Stella to the center of each flower for a bit of bling.  Attached my tag to SU WW Thick card front using 3M foam tape and Done!  So quick and easy, since I had my main image already colored.

I love the bright colors and CAS design.  Hope you can join in the fun at the Tagplorations Linky Party. Lots of prizes for just commenting too.  Thanks again Shery for keeping us inspired by your DT samples and challenges :-)  Hugs..

Alcohol Ink Love Hugs

Alcohol Inks and Zig Markers Hugs.....for my 85 year old friend who is legally blind,  so I like to give her cards that she can enjoy touching :-)  Pat Loved her card,  which made us both happy!

The other day I played around with my Alcohol Inks using the scrunched Plastic Wrap technique. I used Karen (Snippets) technique.  Be sure and click on her Snippets blog link to see the Gorgeous heart she made using much different colors.

I just added drops of Alcohol inks: Tim Holtz Flamingo, Watermelon and Pink Sherbet  to my Yupo paper, spritzed with blending solution and covered with Glad Wrap.  Then scrunched up the Glad Wrap and let sit over night to dry.  Then die cut the smaller heart.  For the larger heart I used a background with the same AI's but added more blending solution,  which really lightened up the background and then added the Glad Wrap,  but did not scrunch it up.  This gave a pretty and more subtle texture to the background.  I then die cut the larger heart.

I die cut the card front, popped up with foam tape and inlaid the hearts.

Next..I used my Zig watercolor markers to make stripes across a scrap piece of Whisper White CS using colors close to my AI colors and I then die cut the hugs and punched out the heart from the piece.

I added my hugs using my fine tip glue pen, added my heart with a dimensional and a rhinestone to the hearts for the final touch.  This was a fun and easy Valentine.

Supplies:
Paper: SU Whisper White thick and regular.  Yupo paper.  Inks: Tim Holtz Alcohol Inks: Watermelon, Flamingo and Pink Sherbet.  Zig watercolor markers.  Accessories: Big Shot, SU Heart Dies, heart punch and Rhinestones.

STAMPlorations Love TAGSplorations

STAMPlorations Love TAGSplorations Seven Days of  Valentine Tag Making Fun!

Here is my Mixed Media Love tag for Day 2 that I made for my twin sister Margie to use as a bookmark!

Margie loved her bookmark:-)  It has a lot of layers and textures, but is still flat enough for a bookmark.

I started by die cutting a Tim Holtz #8 manila tag using my new CUTplorations Luggage Tag and using the largest tag of the 3 in the set.  Then the layers began...

Layer #1 & #2..Golden's white Gesso and when dry I added a 2nd layer of Gesso using my palette knife.
Layer #3...mixed 3 acrylic paints: passion, fuchsia, purple on my non stick craft sheet with my palette knife.  After applying paints to tag I used a plastic card to spread the textured lines. Then let dry.
Layer #4...Placed ARTplorations "Bold Florals" mini stencil over tag and added Goldens white EB paste using palette knife.  Removed stencil and washed immediately.  Let tag dry.
Layer #5..stamped STAMPlorations "Scribbly Splattery Grunge" set images using Archival black ink.

Then I used the same acrylic paint on a piece of scrap SU Whisper White thick CS and die cut my heart and love with my SU "Sunshine Wishes" Dies.  Attached to tag using SU Fine Tip Glue Pen. Weighting down the die images with my acrylic block.

I added my SU ribbons for the final touch.  I also die cut another tag with SU WW thick CS and attached to the back for a nice clean look and a sturdier bookmark.

Hope you check out Shery's newest STAMPlorations Blog Hop.  So many awesome tags each day by her amazingly talented DT members.  Lots of her usual prizes too!  Happy Tag making.  Hugs...

SUPPLIES listed in my description.....

My tag is for 2 more STAMPlorations Challenges..

STAMPlorations Mixed Media Challenge...must use a stencil or stencils and not a card.  Anything goes theme.

My 3rd NBUS #10 Alcohol Ink Bubble Wrap Card!

You have until midnight PST tonight to play in Darnell's NBUS #10 Challenge.  That will be the end of her 3 week NBUS Birthaversary Celebration :-)  What a HUGE success Darnell.  You chose such fun techniques to try plus encouraging us to use our Never Before Uses Schtuff!!!

Here is my 3rd card using the alcohol ink bubble wrap technique.

Here is the link to my 1st card using this alcohol ink bubble wrap technique and also a photo of the 3 extra backgrounds I made.  One of those backgrounds I used for this new card.  Here is the link to my 2nd card using one of my extra backgrounds.  All my cards turned out so different and were so easy and fun because I already had my backgrounds.

I did my technique a little different than Darnell's.  I dropped my Alcohol Inks onto the inside of a padded envelope,  which has smaller bubbles than your normal bubble wrap packing material.  I then spritzed my inks with blending solution and laid my Yupo paper over the ink with a piece of paper towel over the Yupo and pressed down with my hands to get a good impression.

I used the sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches #273 Challenge
I mounted my cut panels onto Whisper White thick CS.  I then added adhesive tape to the back and added metallic silver thread flipped over and attached to my card front.  I die cut my Tim Holtz "Wildflower" using Coaster Board and Whisper White thick CS and glued together for extra dimension.  I used Fine Tip Glue Pen to attach my die to my panels using an acrylic block to weight down the die for a secure attachment.

My final step was stamping my Penny Black "Heartfelt Thanks" sentiment (my 1st time to use this sentiment) using Archival jet black ink.  I then popped up my card front with foam tape and done :-)

I am adding my card to the City Crafter Challenge #347...Colour Splash: Black, White and Aqua.

I sure have gotten a lot of mileage from one session of alcohol ink bubble wrap creating. I really have enjoyed making all 3 of my cards and have loved how differently they turned out. Thank you again Darnell for a fabulously creative 3 week challenge Birthaversary Celebration ;-)

Happy Stamping my friends.  Hugs.....

Supplies:
Stamps:  Penny Black Heartfelt Thanks.  Paper:  SU Whisper White Thick and regular. Yupo Paper. Inks:  Pinata Alcohol Inks: Black and White.  Tim Holtz AI: Stream. Accessories:  Big Shot, Tim Holtz Wildflower Die, SU metallic thread and fine tip glue pen. MISTI. 3M foam tape.

NBUS #10...Bubble Wrap and More

You still have until Midnight PST to play in Darnell's NBUS #10 Challenge.  Be sure and click on the link for All the Deets.  I am playing with my Alcohol Ink Bubble Wrap backgrounds and Never Before Used Schtuff!

Here is my card using my brand new (yesterday) CUTplorations "Luggage Tags Nesting Dies".  I love all 3 sizes of the tags.  I used the middle and smallest dies for my card. The largest tag in the set is the same size as the Artplorations Luggage Tag Stencil, which I have several.  So fun getting new toys.

Here is the link to my 1st card using this alcohol ink bubble wrap technique and also a photo of the 3 extra backgrounds I made.  One of those backgrounds I used for this new card.  Already having the backgrounds and my new tag dies made this card so quick and easy.  Putting the sequins on took as long as the rest of the card..lol!

I stamped my Fond Expressions sentiment using my MISTI and Archival jet black ink.  I then heat set to make sure it did not smear.  Do not use too much heat because you can warp Yupo paper.

I added a SU Pool Party ribbon and white baker's twine.  I used SU Fine Tip Glue Pen to attach my sequins and weighted them down with an acrylic block.  I also die cut another small tag out of SU Coaster Board (ret) and attached to Yupo top tag for more dimension and glued to the larger tag,
which was attached with foam tape.

My card is for several challenges besides NBUS #10.

City Crafter #347 Colour Splash..Black, White and Aqua.

Darnell's NBUS #10 Bubble Wrap

I am playing again in Darnell's NBUS Challenge 3 week blog Birthaversary.  I am playing this time in NBUS #10 with a never before used stamp set and a cool Bubble Wrap Technique. This is Darnell's 3rd and last week for us to play in her really fun challenges and with a chance to win prizes:-) Darnell..I already own prizes 3, 4 and 5.

Here is my card using the fun Bubble Wrap Technique and my new Penny Black "Spread Cheer" stamp set.

I did my technique a little different than Darnell's.  I dropped my Alcohol Inks onto the inside of a Padded Envelope, which has smaller bubbles than your normal bubble wrap packing material.  I then spritzed my inks with Blending Solution and laid my Yupo Paper over the ink with a piece of paper towel over the Yupo Paper and pressed down with my hands.  This was my 1st pull using that technique.  I got 3 more pulls with each being lighter than the 1st,  that I will use for future cards.

Here is a photo of 3 more backgrounds.....

On my finished card I used my MISTI to stamp my Penny Black brush and bird images using Archival jet black ink over my bubble wrap background.  Even with Archival ink you have to be very careful not to smear the ink,  which I did..whoops!  Time for a bit of surgery.  I discovered my SU Baja Breeze CS was a perfect match for the T.H. "Steam" alcohol ink,  so I made an angled corner cut and now have a bit of the CS showing, which I like.

I then die cut my CUTplorations "Birthday Word" using the Baja Breeze CS and stamped my SU "Sunshine Sayings" sentiment on scraps of Yupo and attached all with SU Fine Tip Glue pen weighting down with a large acrylic block for a few minutes.  I attached my card front to my card base and was done.  I really like this card much better IRL.  It is shiny and real artsy looking!  The bubble wrap circles add a really nice texture.

Thank you again Darnell for all your fun challenges and encouraging us to try new techniques and of course use Never Before Used Schtuff!

My card is for another challenge City Crafter #347 Colour Splash Black & White and Splash of Aqua

Happy stamping and bubble wrapping my friends.  Hugs....

Stamps: Penny Black "Spread Cheer".  SU "Sunshine Sayings".  Paper: SU Baja Breeze.  Yupo.  Ink: Pinata Alcohol Ink: Black and White.  Tim Holtz AI: Stream.  Accessories: Big Shot, CUTplorations Birthday Word, SU fine tip glue pen, MISTI, padded envelope bubble wrap.

CAS Watercolour February 2017 Love Challenge

It is already time for our CAS Watercolour February Challenge: Love.  Just in time for Valentine's Day,  but a wonderful challenge for many occasions.

I chose a Valentine's Card for my DH Denny :-)

Here is a close up showing all the pretty shimmer from the Pinata Rich Gold metallic Alcohol Ink.

These are not your normal Valentine's Day colors,  but I could not resist using this beautiful Alcohol Ink background I made using the Smooshed on foil technique.  Here is Loll's video on Alcohol Inks with Yupo Paper.  I followed Loll's steps exactly.

I especially loved the pretty gold shimmer from the Pinata gold metallic AI.

I added a thin black CS trim on the panel and die cut heart.  Before attaching to my card front I splattered diluted Inka Gold..Gold paint,  which added a watercolour texture. Then I stamped my PB sentiment  using my MISTI and Archival Black ink.

I am so happy with the results.  I know Denny will love the results,  since he loves my AI backgrounds and non-traditional holiday colors.

Be sure and check out all the gorgeous samples from the CAS Watercolour Design Team and our awesome Guest Designer Michelle (Handmade by Michelle).   Enjoy and wishing you all a month celebrating with your loved ones!  Hugs....

Supplies:
Stamps: Penny Black "Heartfelt Thanks".  Paper: SU Whisper White thick and Basic Black.   Yupo Paper.  Ink: Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink: Sailboat Blue, Wild Plum and Purple Twilight.  Pinata Alcohol Ink: Gold metallic.

CAS Mix Up February 2017 Corrugated Cardboard

Time already for the CAS Mix Up February 2017 Challenge: Stamping + Corrugated Cardboard +Your Choice.  Hosted this month by our DT member,  Susan (Cardmaker's Garret).

I was looking forward to this challenge because I have rarely used corrugated cardboard,  but have always liked the organic feel from this style.  Thank you Susan for the inspiration.

My card using: Stamping + Corrugated Cardboard covered by designer paper + My choice of Die Cuts, Splatters and Sequins.

I was so happy to have my design turn out like what I had in my head!  Before I cut my SU designer paper,  I crimped with my crimper to break up the fibers.  I then added liquid glue in the corrugated groves and covered my corrugated cardboard with my designer paper tucking the overlapping sides around the cardboard and gluing with the liquid glue.  I trimmed both ends to get just the right size vase.

Next I used my Penny Black dies to cut my flower using the same designer paper and the stem with cardstock. I also die cut both with coaster board to give them extra dimension..worked great.

Next I die cut my card front with my CUTplorations Die and placed the card front inside my MISTI so as to position my sentiment.  But before stamping,  I decided my card front needed more mixed media so I used diluted acrylic paint and a paint brush to add a few splatters.

Then I placed my sentiment in my MISTI and stamped with Archival black ink.   Next I attached my flower, stem, vase and sequins on my card and attached with liquid glue.

I was so pleased with the results.  Hope you like my card too and will play with us this month on our CAS Mix Up February Challenge.  You have until February 24th to join in the fun.

Be sure and visit the Challenge blog to see all the fabulous samples from the DT and our Guest this month...Julie (Crafted by Jules).  You will be inspired my friends.  Happy Stamping..Hugs...
